I've been working on a gift for my mom (digital painting) for eh... a long time. I wanted to undo some steps and that's when the photoshop froze for a hot second. When it unfroze ALL of the history was gone (6+ hours of work) and the only thing that was in the history panel was "rectanglular marquee". I couldn't go back in the history. I couldn't revert. And despite me checking the auto save option, nothing has been saved. This is the first time I have ever cried over losing a file. Normally I would get mad, angry, blue. But I have never cried before. I need to fucking take a break for the rest of the day (though it's already 10 pm, so the break won't take long).

I have multiple breeds/races/types of animals in my story titled "United" (maybe a working title, maybe not). One of them are Crocottas, which are animals connected to water and have fish based or marine fauna based characteristics (fins, gills, 3rd lids, translucence etc.). I've thought of this concept and name around 8 years ago. This name was one of the many croc-names I thought of at the time and in my mind it had a connection to crocodiles. I was today years old when I learned the name Crocotta is a name for a hyena-like beast in Indian folklore. I only know of the word "crocuta", so basically hyenas, but have never heard about a "crocotta". First thought? "WTF" “Everything has been done before" as they say. It's not the first time I learned first hand how coincidence can be a thing when it comes to art and doesn't always mean plagiarism. Good to have reminders like that pop in every now and again.

I'm pretty sure that if Barack Obama was a lion from Lion King his name would be Baraka Oba Ma? Guess it would mean something like "Or my blessing"?
